19 c. Antique Opaline Tazza Bowl Enamel Gold Gilt Silver Cut Scallop Edge Footed
A 19th century, possibly Bohemian, opaline tazza footed bowl. The top is rolled over and cut with a scalloped edge. The decoration is enameled gold gilt and silver overlay.
Every time you polish just a little more gilding and silver is removed. There are raised silver dots around the center and go up the stem and on the foot. One dot around the center is missing. The top is rolled over and cut in a scalloped design.
This is a high quality antique glass piece. There are no chips or cracks but I feel a little roughness as I run my fingers on the underneath of the cut scallops. There is some loss to the gold gilding but the silver has retained strong. It stand 4 inches tall and 4 1/8 inches wide at the top.
The foot measures 2 1/4 inches. The stem is cut and there is cut decoration around the foot. This piece is nicer than the photos make it appear. The piece is not large. Please look at all photos and blow up as they are a huge part of the description and show dimensions. I have been collecting any and everything beautiful for as long as I can remember.
