Vintage Lighted Shadowbox Wall Art Reverse Painted Glass Victorian Woman G. Telo
Jewelry: 1910 - 1939 Art Deco. Vintage Lighted Shadowbox Wall Art Reverse Painted Glass Victorian Woman G. Unique wall art in the form of a lighted shadowbow featuring a reverse hand-painted decoration by artist George Telo, c. The painted view shows a brightly-dressed Victorian female, parasol open and held in the right hand, standing amid a lush green patch of grass and trees, with a tiny home/cottage seen in the background.
Detailed and accented nicely; vibrant tones of purple, pink, and yellow sprayed throughout the flower-bud-laden grass ground and the attire. Remnants of the signed "Telo" show in the bottom right corner (some of the green paint wore off when the glass was wiped clean). Two lightbulbs insert into the top and bottom open-ends. A switch on the bottom side individually controls each light (top and bottom, or both). Piece measures 14 5/8" Long x 12 1/4" Wide x 2 7/8 Thick.
View measures 10 1/8" L x 7 7/8" W. Light amount of surface wear evident around the metal frame: scratches, nicks, and fading/discoloration. The interior glass panel is rough around the corners but intact without cracks or significant paint loss.
The painted material is however fragile and cleaning is not advised. Electrical mechanism has been fully tested and is working well. 5L #20x16x6 smartbx 9L lighting parasol_light (B). The item "Vintage Lighted Shadowbox Wall Art Reverse Painted Glass Victorian Woman G.
