Victorian Opalescent Lady Chippendale Antique Glass Plates by Davidson, England
Antique, Victorian yellow opalescent pressed glass plates by George Davidson & Co, England. Primrose Pearline / Lady Chippendale design.
1 large and 6 small plates. Victorian yellow vaseline / uranium glass plates with white pearline rim. Made by the British company Davidson & Co around 1900, as part of their'Primrose Pearline' range (design registration number 176566).
This pattern is also known as'Lady Chippendale'. The glass glows bright green in UV light. Diameter: 265 mm (10 3/8 in). Height: 50 mm (2 in). Diameter: 160 mm (6 1/4 in). All plates are marked with the registration number 176566 in relief. Weight of the set: 2180g unpacked. All plates are in excellent condition. The only sign of wear is a small, shallow chip on the rim of the large plate, which is noticeable only at close inspection. I tried to document it with the camera, but was unsuccessful.
