Victorian Hair Art In Vintage Frame
This is a beautiful floral design made from human hair, a lost Victorian era tradition in which hair, (that can actually retain it's pigment for centuries) was snipped from a loved one's head to commemorate their life or death. Other common uses were in jewelry as well as crushed up to be used for it's pigment. This unique example is preserved in a vintage wooden frame wavy, bubbly glass. There is a hanger on the back. It measures the 8" wide by 11.5" high and is about 1 deep. The lace edged runner pictured is not included.
