Victorian European Antique Art Glass 3 pc Rose Bowl & Vases
This is a beautiful and rare example of early Victorian Art Glass. The three piece set of Custard Glass Art Glass is attributed to European glass houses ca. The set consists of a Rose Bowl 6" tall by 6 1/4" in diameter. The matching vases each stand 8 tall.
The applied amber branches and handles, amber leaves with Green & Ruby mix, and applied flowers made of Opal and Ruby glass are all in perfect condition. One flower petal on one of the vases has a tiny flake that is right next to an amber branch.
It is not noticeable but mentioned for accuracy and is the only issue but does not detract from this beautiful rare set. Not only is this art glass rare, but is quite exquisite to have this many matching pieces. Museum quality all the way.Photos do not do justice. The custard glass fluoresces nicely. This custard glass is not the cheap thin glass reproduced from the Bohemian area. The weight of these pieces are quite substantial attributing it to the better glass houses of England in the Stourbridge area during the late 1870s to the early 1880s.
Any unusual white or dark spots shown in the photos are from camera glare. This will make a great accessory to any Victorian home.
