Victorian Art Blue Diamond Optic Pattern Glass Biscuit Jar

  

Vintage glass, late Victorian era, probably English. This biscuit or cookie jar is made of blue glass, pressed in an all over diamond pattern, it gives a raised texture in the glass. The bottom is pressed in the same pattern as the sides. The top has a rounded shoulder and a metal band around the collar. The bail handle works perfectly without catches or drag. The collar and handle are grey pot metal, they may have been painted at one time. The round cover is in good condition. The glass is free of chips cracks or flaws. The metal shows age appropriate wear.
