Victorian Antique Art Glass Epergne
This is a hand blown Art Glass Antique Epergne in the shape of a lily flower consisting of 2 pieces. The lower part is like a swirling tulle skirt with wide ruffled edge, swirling around, and the main body having appearance of a light bottle green water, and the upper part, a flute or trumpet in the shape of a lily, also with a swirling, ruffled edge and textured body. You can use it as a traditional epergne for fruits and sweets with long stem flowers set in the flute, and also the lower part can be used separately as a vase for tulips or other flowers, as it has a space in the base for water. Overall it is a very spectacular but not too fussy decorative piece of glass, and can be successfully displayed on its own as a centerpiece on any table or vitrine. It measures 16" total height and 12" across the lower circular dish. The condition is very good, no chips, cracks, scratches or flea bites that are visible to my eye. There's a bit of clouding in the very bottom of the base of the piece from water. Can be removed with vinegar and baking soda solution if you find it as not attractive.
To me personally it just adds to the charm of this lovely antique piece. The item "Victorian Antique Art Glass Epergne" is in sale since Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
