Washington produced Burmese glass vase. Burmese is a thin art glass that begins as a salmon pink that fades to yellow. It also contains uranium oxide and fluoresces like vaseline glass under black light. It begins as yellow and changes color to pink when reheated. The pale outer edge on this vase proves it was heated for a second time which causes the pink to reverse back to yellow Only Mt.
Washington produced Burmese in the US. They began producing Burmese in 1885.
This vase has a polished pontil mark as well a satin finish. Add some brilliant color and stunning design to your collection with this magnificent piece. Size is 5 1/2" wide and 18" tall. There are no chips or cracks. Make room on the Top Shelf for this one!
