Scarce c. 1883 Phoenix Art Glass Pink Honeycomb Vase, Joseph Webb Glossy 4.75
Scarce Art Glass Pink Honeycomb Vase with ruffled rim and polished pontil. A bit of a mystery for the art glass community. Though some people speculate a Bohemian origin, perhaps Harrach, this piece is currently classified as the "Honeycomb" pattern by Phoenix. Produced in both a dating a glossy finish, such as this example, which was the rarer finish of the two.
This vase is truly magnificent. It measures 4.75" at the highest point and 4.5" at the widest point.
It has a few inclusions and bubbles in the glass, with only one noted flaw: one of the ruffles on the rim has a small surface chip. Otherwise nice condition for its age.
