RESTORED Antique Victorian Ceiling Gas/Electric Pendant Light & Art Glass Shades

  

This is an elegant circa 1890 brass ceiling light pendant fixture. This one is particularly interesting because it originally had one electric bulb and one gas burner. This seemingly odd combination was popular in the 1890s right after electric lighting had been introduced since electricity was still somewhat unreliable, so people hedged their bets by having lighting fixtures with both gas & electric! This fixture has been professionally converted to 100% electric for both lights with new wiring and sockets. It takes a one regular candelabra sized light bulb and one standard size bulb. The fixture has also been painstakingly restored with the brass parts buffed, polished and finished with high-gloss polyurethane to retard tarnishing. Without shades, the fixture is about 18 tall and approx. 11 at its widest point. The larger (gas) shade is about 5" tall and is 7" at its widest point. It has a 4 fitter opening. The smaller (electric) shade is about 5 1/2" tall and 5" wide. No stock photographyyou will receive exactly what you see in the photographs. My items come from a smoke-free home.
