RARE Antique GWTW Victorian HANGING HALL or ENTRY LAMP, Opalescent Art Glass

RARE, DECORATIVE, OPALESCENT ART GLASS - HALL OR ENTRYWAY LAMP FROM THE VICTORIAN PERIOD. Globe measures 6" wide by 6.5" high. The original brass top piece includes an attached ring or hook for hanging the lamp. For the chains are in excellent condition.

The circular mechanism behind the top piece, used for lowering and raising the lamp has been removed, but the chain can be shortened by hand if you wish. The primary metal overall is BRASS. The correct brass bottom piece supports the globe as photographed. The oil font and glass chimney have been removed because the lamp has been professionally electrified by a company we know in Reno Nevada. I can find no chips, cracks or other damage in the art glass globe. The upper and lower edges of the globe have only MINOR roughness from use, which is VERY RARE for a lamp of this age. I suspect that this treasure has been hidden somewhere in grammas attic for quite some time. Having said that, please consider that this absolutely gorgeous, artful example of Victorian lighting is an antique... By its very nature of being old is not "dead mint" or perfect.
