Rare 21 Antique Polychrome Lamp Slag Glass Shade Boudoir Art Nouveau Victorian
This listing is for a Rare approximately 21 Antique multicolor Polychrome Boudoir / table / desk Lamp with a stunning Slag Glass Shade. It has a strong Art Nouveau & Victorian influence. Likely made around the turn of the century through 1910 ish. The maker is unfortunately unknown, possibly by a Pittsburgh company. It comes from an estate in Bakerstown PA, a small town north of Pittsburgh with a rich local history.
It has been professionally repainted to its original color scheme and fully rewired. It looks great with a bright (low heat) bulb as shown, but also looks great with a low brightness bulb for a more dimmed effect that makes the swirling slag glass glow a little more. The glass features multiple colors in a gorgeous marbled swirl. Each panel is a little different than the last.
The top panels are a slag beige ish color, the bottom are a stunning array of blues, greens, reds, and opaque colors of the same hues. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won't have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor.
It is in good antique condition. The shade has previous repairs on the top but appears sturdy. One bottom panel is cracked, could be repaired or left as is - looks fine and barely noticeable as is. Other glass panels are in great shape. Finial & base are not original to the shade- but are extremely close to the originals and have been painted to match. Personally I think it looks a little better than the original base. Thank you for your consideration, I appreciate your time. Comes as shown, please see photos for details and measurements.
