Phoenix glass company of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania has come to be known as one of the finest art glass producers of the late 1800s here in North America. Their products are highly sought after and collected because of the striking beauty and originality of their items. This piece is no exception, the shape called the round neck ball pitcher was created in the rare amber opalescent color with tightly packed rows of opalescent coin dots. It stands just over 8 tall with an opening of 3 across. The production time period was between 1883 and 1889, after which the mouth of the pitcher was increased in size and flared at the top sometimes into a ruffled pattern.

There are no chips, cracks, damage, or repairs. I see no heat checks nor stress cracks at the top or the bottom of the handle nor is there any water staining or damage on the inside. I will mention a point on the bottom of the spout of the pitcher from manufacturing as well as a tiny flake on the edge of the pontil on the bottom, again from production. This item will be a super addition to your Victorian water pitcher collection. ALL REASONABLE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.
