ORIGINAL VICTORIAN POLY CHROME BOUDOIR BASE w HANDEL STYLE ART GLASS SHADE, NICE
The shade was made in the LC Tiffany Favrile tradition by Lundberg Studios. This table lamp is a nice desk size as it stands 14 1/8" tall and the shade is 8 1/8" wide. The bottom foot of the base has a diameter of 4 1/2 from corner flat feet to corner flat feet.
The art glass shade off the base is 8 1/8" in diameter at the bulge and 4 3/4" tall to the top flat side. This table lamp depicts an art glass shade in the shape of dome with a wave or Damascene style pattern. The shade unlit has a blue green iridescent color with strong fuchsia and purples.
It is definitely mint and a olive green when lit. The inside of the shade is cased in a white opal much like its predecessor Tiffany Studios or Tiffany Favrile. The base displays a beautiful poly chrome finish on a zinc or white metal frame. It has an arts and crafts Victorian flare to the painting. It has a fish scale pattern at the bottom with raised leaves in a poly chrome blue and a flower cluster between each column at the top of the base under the harp. There are 4 of these columns that extend to the bottom and act as feet. There are somewhat buttress in nature. It has a Handel lamp style harp with heat cap to hold the shade mounted to the base.
The base is quite heavy for its size and holds the shade comfortably. The lamp base is considered to be in very good condition. It does shows some signs of wear. The base has been professionally rewired using the antique brown rayon lamp cord with a period push through socket. I have fully tested this lamp and it works just great.
The shade is in great shape as well. There are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a splinter near the top opening but this happened when they cut the neck off the shade in manufacture. The base is unsigned but the art glass shade is signed at the inside top opening. It is signed "Lundberg Studios 2018" in a clockwise manner.
This is a quality art glass table lamp. It would look great in a Victorian, Arts and Crafts or brownstone home. I recommend using no more than a 40 watt bulb as this a nice accent lamp.
There are vent holes in the top cap to allow the heat to escape. You can also use a 60 watt led bulb as they throw no heat. When assembling this lamp, I also recommend that you loosen the top screw 1 /2 turn after locking it down to the base. This will allow for heat expansion with the glass when it gets warm from the light bulb.
