Simply beautiful & in amazing condition for a 130 year old! This cream pitcher was made by Mount Washington Glassworks along with Pairpoint Mfg Co providing the metal mount and handle. The metal mount & handle pattern has been attributed to Pairpoint and/or Mount Washington Glassworks by MWPGS along with other resources. The polished pontil area may have a mark though we could not be certain. We believe this to be Royal Flemish Burmese glass due to the gilt decoration and female cameo/ silhouette however we have been unable to 100% identify which collection this piece belongs to. An almost identical cream pitcher with the same pattern mount and similar design was defined as being Royal Flemish Medallion though the glass color was mostly ivory. The metal mount pattern has been found on items in MWPS's "other gallery" on a piece from The Frosted Collection and a cut glass piece.
If you know more, please share! The metal mount has been described as nickel metal in some resources, and quadruple plate in others. We did not test it for either. Measurements: 3.25"t with a 1 7/8" bottom diameter and approximate 3.5 at its widest point.
Some bottom wear, 2 tiny dirt? Specs underneath silhouette, tarnished metal lip & handle. No apparent cracks, chips or repairs of same. No loss of paint apparent, though face either has some surface scratches or it may possibly be a signature?
