Mt Washington Crown Milano Hobnail Pickle Caster
MT WASHINGTON CROWN MILANO HOBNAIL DECORATED PICKLE CASTER. This gorgeous Victorian art glass pickle caster was made by the Mount Washington Glass Company of New Bedford, Massachusetts, circa 1880s-1890s. The company originated in Boston in 1837 as the New Bedford Glass Works. Libbey in 1870 and moved to New Bedford, when the company was renamed the Mount Washington Glass Works. In 1876 it was reorganized and renamed the Mount Washington Glass Company, which was its name until 1894, when it merged with the Pairpoint Mfg.
Company, a renown maker of silver. Washington Crown Milano Hobnail pickle caster is decorated to represent Peach Blow, further decorated with enameled flowers, vines and leaves. I believe their Crown Milano Hobnail glass is fairly rare, you sure don't see it come up often. The silver plated base is marked DERBY SILVER CO.
The silver plate is in excellent condition as is the rest of the piece, it's a stunning piece of 125 year old hand decorated art glass! CONDITION: No chips, cracks, scratches, sickness or repairs.
