Mt. Washington CORALENE Art Glass Diamond Quilted 5.5 Satin Glass Vase
This listing is for a gorgeous Mt. Washington Coralene Art Glass vase with diamond quilted satin glass body with air-trap mother-of-pearl internal design and iridescent blue glass beading, c.
This unusual vase is cased glass with a satin exterior finish with a soft rose/cranberry color at the top shading to the white on the lower body and cased over white opaque glass. The vase is decorated with an all-over design of tiny blue iridescent glass beads applied in a seaweed pattern. The blue glass beads contrast beautifully against the vivid rose color of the vase and are more rarely found than the gold opalescent beads generally used to decorate most Coralene pieces. Photos of Coralene art glass can be found on pages 58 and 100 of the reference book "The Collector's Encyclopedia of American Art Glass, Second Edition" by John A.
Measures 5 1/2" high with a 1 1/2" diameter top, an overall width of 3. This beautiful vase is in excellent Estate condition with no major flaws although there is one tiny no-harm pin-point nick on the edge of the rim that is barely visible. The Coralene beading is in excellent condition, and we found no missing beads or breaks in the seaweed design.
