A beautiful Bohemian vase made of overlaid cut-glass and. With extravagant gilding and hand painted scenes. The vase features 10 cartouches depicting female portraits, exquisite florals and a distinguished lion. Each beautifully hand-painted enamel panel is expertly executed depicting period scenarios. The bottom bears the number "29" which is hand-painted.
Pre-owned estate fresh item from an avid antique dealer's private collection in Dallas, TX. Overall, the vase is in good condition. The hand painting is extremely well done and remains vibrant. There is minor gilt loss which is commensurate with age and wear.
Most importantly, there is a repair to the uppermost section of glass just under the bronze mouth. At some point, it appears there was a break or chip in the glass which was reattached but not in an expert manner. Therefore resulting in the mouth being slightly askew. Otherwise, there are no other areas of concern.
The piece is very substantial weighing 3.5 lbs.
