Here is a rather rare art glass 8 1/2" diameter fruit bowl 3 3/4" tall and made by Hobbs Brockunier ca. At well over 100 years of age it is a true antique. There are no chips or cracks and no mineral deposit inside. The pontil is finely ground and polished. Any unusual white or dark spots shown in the photos are from camera glare.

If you are familiar with Hobbs Snowstorm art glass, this bowl is the same dimensions and made using the same colors. It started as Ruby Heat sensitive glass and fired to produce the Ruby only at the top portion of the clear glass bowl. Then cased again in heat sensitive glass with phosphates in it.

Then fired again to produce the White opalescent color only halfway down the sides. This will make a great accessory to any Victorian home.
