Gorgeous Antique Victorian Rose Iridescent Honeycomb Threaded Glass Dessert Set
Gorgeous Antique Victorian Rose Iridescent Honeycomb Threaded Glass Dessert Set Webb Boston Sandwich Stevens & Williams. This is a gorgeous late 19th century guaranteed to be old Victorian era rose iridescent threaded art glass dessert set. They were first produced by Boston & Sandwich Glass, than Carder era at Steuben and English Webb / Stevens and Williams Glass Companies. Both pieces are hand blown art glass with polished pontils as shown.
The bowl has crimped deeply scalloped rim and most interesting honeycomb pattern. Each honeycomb has a round dot at their center. The pattern is connected narrow ovals around the pontil then it becomes honeycomb, very interesting. The plate has narrow ovals at center and same honeycomb pattern at sides.
It also has ruffled rim. The glass is rose color with deep gold iridescent. The treading is same rose color, threads are very thin. The plate has 6.25" diameters, bowl has 5" diameters and it is 2.5 tall.
It is a lovely set for creamy desserts, ice cream, sweet meat, chocolates. They are in good condition without any chips, cracks or repair.
However both has little bit of thread loss. I see few tiny spots on the plate but bowl has missing tiny pieces of threading 6-7 places. They are hard to see, you need to examine the bowl closely to notice them. Discounts will be given only if items can be combined safely in the same box.
