ESEMCO Fine Camphor Glass Sterling Silver Filagree Art Deco Bracelet Victorian

  

Here is an estate find of a delicate ESEMCO signed Camphor Glass Sterling Silver Filagree Bracelet. It is circa 1920's in an antique Victorian and Art Deco style. The center of the bracelet is cut frosted camphor glass. It has a flip over clasp making it very secure. On the clasp it is stamped "Sterling" and signed Esemco. Size 7 once clasp closed. Band width is about 5mm. Bracelet is in overall good condition for its age. It is very delicate with a very thin width. There are some signs of wear like light scuffs, links could use some straightening, and it could use a good cleaning. There is a small broken peice from the back of the glass as can be seen in the photos. Luckily it is not really noticeable from the front side. Camphor glass is made by treating clear glass with hydrofluoric acid vapors to achieve the signature frosted finish. In the 1920's Camphor glass was all the rage found in very fine jewelry. It would often feature a cut radiant star design that would draw the eye to the center, where there would usually be set a small diamond. Camphor glass would be treated the same way any gemstone would, set into a delicate filigree frame. This is a gorgeous peice of history you can wear!
