C F Monroe Wavecrest Rose Bud Decorated Victorian Art Glass Dresser Box
This is a beautiful example of early Wavecrest. It is 5.5" in diameter and 3.5" tall. This is a Victorian Art Glass decorated dresser box. Made by C F Monroe ca. The glass is White Opal milk colored glass. It has a satin type finish and then elaborately decorated with an enamel Rose Bud with other elaborate enamel designs. Notice the detail in the Rose Bud. Each pedal and leaf is meticulously outlined to give it depth. This is truly a beautiful dresser box. Photos do not do justice. It is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks.
The metal fixtures are firmly secure and the clasp and hinge are intact and functional. The inside is very clean. As with many of these early boxes, the original silk lining is missing. Ware on the bottom is commensurate to it's age of well over 100 years. Any unusual white or dark spots shown in the photos are from camera glare.
