Beautiful 4-horn Rose (pink) Crest Epergne-fenton For L. G. Wright, 17 In. Tall
This vintage four-horn epergne was produced in the 1940s by the Fenton Glass Co for retailer L. 17" tall to the top of the largest horn (in the center), and the bowl is about 11 1/2" in diameter. The three smaller horns are each 9 1/2" tall, and the center horn on its own is 11 1/2" in height.
Each of the horns has fine vertical ribs on its'body', with the same ribbing on the central'stand' part of the crimped bowl that is the base of this piece. And, all of these white-bodied pieces have a'crest' (or edge) of pink glass, a color that Fenton called'rose'; interestingly, in strong light the white bodies of these items have a faint pinkish glow - which complements their'crests' nicely. No chips, cracks, nicks, breaks. The clear-glass-and-metal'fitting' that holds the four horns its metal portions and'plaster' interior show a bit of age-appropriate wear - probably from cleaning. On a couple of the photos, it looks like a loose thread or mark on the horn. IT IS FROM my camera I have to take it in for cleaning.
