This is a very unusual Victorian Art Glass Basket. It combines the use of an early Blue pressed Grape pattern Trifold bowl, and a hand applied Amber twisted and split rope handle. The basket stands 7" tall and is 6" in diameter.
The bowl sits on three claw feet. It was pressed in an early 3 part mold. As seen in the photos there are some tiny air bubbles embedded in the glass. This is typical with early pressed glass. I do not know the maker but suspect it is European, possibly English.
The basket is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks and no mineral deposits or stains of any kind. There are no heat checks at any of the attached areas. Any unusual white spots shown in the photos are from camera glare.
This is a very unique piece. This will make a great accessory to any Victorian home.
