Art glass VASE, opaline glass, peachblow, Bohemian, 14.5t, c1880
Century large Bohemian opaline glass mantle vase, - probably Harrach Glass Factory, Bohemia, often attributed to Webb, England, - fine rose glass with subtle fading to pale opaque pink color toward bottom, - satin surface, - gloss rim and base, - hand-enameled blue florals and bronze highlighted leaves with raised decoration with orange stems, - gold highlights, - natural unpolished pontil, - #3 mark. 14.5" tall, 7" dia. Condition - excellent, no chips, very little wear. 931 - Photos taken under various lighting attempting to show the subtle rose/almost blue shading near the bottom. A beautiful high quality glass of fashionable and experimented with colors in the late 19. This style/type of decoration is similar to Webb enameling. Harrach Glass, Bohemia/ Austria/Czechoslovakia (1712-current) is one of the finest, highest producing and longest running glass factories in the world.
