ORIGINAL VICTORIAN STILL LIFE OF ROSES & LILACS OIL PAINTING ON MILK GLASS. This is a great piece. I have only had one other work like this in the past decade. At the end of the 19th Century many woman artists were creating still life oil paintings on canvas, wood, and paper.

Once in a while you will find one on a large piece of milk glass like this one. A large piece of milk glass measuring 24 x 12 inches. Usually a piece of this size would have broken over the years and that is probably why you dont find them often. This one was actually falling out of the frame and the covering glass piece was filthy as was the frame. When I took it out of the frame I realized how great the composition of the still life is. I cleaned the glass and put that back in to protect the painting. I also used archival backing to keep it from rubbing up against the nails. Frame measures 30 1/4 x 18 1/4 inches.
