Antique Victorian Pink Cased Hand Painted Coralene Floral Art Glass Vase Loetz

  

This monumental Victorian Bohemian art glass vase is beautifully decorated with hand-painted florals (of Passion Fruit Flowers) done in the most unusual material that is close to Coralene which is an application of glass beads adhered to the glass vessel to form a sparkling textured design within the hand painted artwork. The bulbous tapered form is cased glass with opal white interior and the exterior is a satin pink.

Accented gold bands and daubs throughout the vase. The floral depiction is truly vibrant with no colour spared in this hand-painted floral design. The coralene type material is a very fine grit that has a textured surface like sand, as seen in the photos. Notice the Coralene artwork has a matte finish. Had to be a short-lived technique that only a master artist could create such beautiful and realistic art. IMO, this vase is a rarity to find with this type of material incorporated into the design. No pontil on the low footed base. There is a handwritten, numerical signature on the base. Don't think there is any association with a maker. 10.75 inches to be exact. The rim is 3-7/8" diameter and the base is 4-1/8" diameter. The bulbous area on the vase is 8 wide, at best. The wooden base is not included.
