Antique Victorian Memento Mori Human Hair Art, Basket, Curved Glass Display Case. Memento Mori Display in a remarkable state of preservation, circa 1870. Extraordinary example of Victorian Folk Art. Plush Moss Green Velvet Easter Basket embellished with finely detailed brass Morning Glories, cloth flowers, set rhinestones and wires wrapped in Human Hair. Seams and pleated backing of the glass display case are decorated in the same velvet as the basket.
Three original mirrors are affixed to the backing. The Curved Glass Display Case measures 12. Excellent+ condition, no damage to the glass or wood, original bun feet, minor silvering loss to the three mirrors set onto the backing, mentioned for accuracy only.
