Antique Victorian Jack in the Pulpit Cranberry Art Glass Vase Hand Blown
Jewelry: 1910 - 1939 Art Deco. Antique Victorian Jack in the Pulpit Cranberry Art Glass Vase Hand Blown. Offered here is an antique victorian" Jack in the Pulpit" vase colored in a rich cranberry color. The piece was hand blown and features a fluted, ribbed pattern on top which leads to a thinner middle neck and then finally opens back up into an squeezed ellipsoid base. A unpolished patch constitutes the pontil which indicates that the vase was in fact hand blown. The term "Jack in the pulpit" refers to a certain species of flower called Arisaema triphyllum common to eastern North America which has an interesting open hooded flower. Measures 4 1/2" in Diameter x 9 1/8" High. Top opening measures 2 in Diameter.
The piece is in very good to excellent condition. Some slight straw lines on interior. A few manufacturing bubbles or bumps. The bottom interior could also use a good cleaning.
