The exterior of the vessel has been hand painted with a white enamel foliate and flower design simulating cameo glass. The perfectly balanced footed form appears inspired by exotic Middle Eastern pieces with a bulbous shaped body leading to a tall, slender hooped neck which stylishly swells and tapers.
The Persian influence leads us to believe this piece was most likely produced as a rose water sprinkler bottle with the bulbous section to the neck aiding ones grasp for use.
