Antique Victorian 1850-60s Portrait Miniature Beautiful Boy 5 x 6 Period Frame

Offering a beautiful antique original, OOAK, hand-painted oil or gouche on heavy card featuring a handsome young man with longer brown hair, and clothing of the mid-Victorian period. He is casually leaning with his arms posed on furniture.

His outfit features an ornate white shirt with ruffles down the front, and around the collar and long-sleeved cuffs. Dark pants and a brown jacket open in front with one button closed at the neck. It is a beautifully rendered portrait of a serious young lad. There is some very minor wear at the edges and some minor, light flaking at the top of his right coat sleeve but the card-stock is sturdy and in fine condition.

Behind the convex glass it is not very noticeable. Measurements are: Unframed: 3 3/4" wide by 5" tall Framed: 5" wide by 6" tall I have owned this miniature for quite some time and it comes in an oval period frame with a ring at the top so it can be hanged on a wall. The wooden frame is black with gold liner and the original convex glass. The glass is held in place with metal "teeth" which surround the inner oval opening.

The portrait is oval as well, but too small to fit exactly inside the frame so I have taped it to the back of the frame. It still shows the portrait well. Having a period original frame adds more value to the portrait than if it was housed in a newer frame.
