Stevens & Williams Art Glass Vase Pink Spangle Silver Mica England Circa 1890. This is an exceptionally designed Stevens & Williams Art Glass Vase made in England in the 1900's. The main body was hand blown and the disks (or oyster and pearl shapes) were applied afterwards. The disks are crimped and give the impression of candy. There are three layers of glass in this vase.
The outer layer is clear with a satin finish, the inner layer is pink, known as spangle with silver flecks, known as silver mica and the inner layer is white, known as a cased technique. The lip has a clear edge to it. There is plenty to study and enjoy about this unusual and frilly design. This would be an unusual piece to own and/or add to an art glass collection. Stands 9 1/2" Tall, 5 1/2" Width at the widest point. Throat: 1 1/8 at the thinnest point. Thickness: roughly 1/8 inch thick. Color: Pink with Silver flecks, White and Clear. Ruffled lip, disks along two sides. Condition: old surface chip (photo # 6) about 1; the bottom tip of the disk application has small chip on one side (hard to notice - photos ## 9,10).
