This glossy, cased glass bowl is shaded cranberry pink on the interior and white on the exterior. The rim is amber glass.
The rim is crimped and ruffled. Hand painted floral and leaf decoration is present on the exterior, which is gold painted with accents of raised enamel. It is a substantial piece.
This bowl stands approximately 4 7/8 inches tall, and it is about 10 1/8 inches long and 10 inches wide. Unpacked, the bowl weighs 2 pounds 13.7 ounces. The base has a central, ground pontil area.
This lovely piece would be an excellent addition to a collection of Victorian art glass. Identification This bowl is unmarked, and the maker is not known. It is antique, likely circa late 19th or early 20th century. The exact age is not known.
Condition The bowl looks good overall, with no cracks or chips. It has wear to its gold paint. The base has wear scratches, as expected for old glass. There are a few minor abrasions/scuffs to the crimped rim. As made, there are a few tiny, dark inclusions to the interior, and there are a few scattered, tiny pinprick bubbles in the glass.
