Antique Loetz Uranium Opalescent Paeonie Art Glass Floriform Candlestick Holder

This extraordinary early Loetz, Barock art glass is a exceptional. Shape to find even as a candlestick holder. The peaonia / peony flower is yellow (uranium) opalescent and the applied petals are colourless glass. Colourless stem with thorns and applied leaves sparkle. The ornate yellow opalescent footed base has a scissor cut edge that is nice formed with polished edges underneath the base, and there's a polished pontil in the center of the base. As one would expect, the uranium glass glows neon green under a UV light. The floriform rim is 3-5/8 diameter. With this example, I had a yellow opalescent Paeonia years ago, and this example is previewed as part of Dr. I've had the pleasure of owning a couple of other Paenia examples in pink opalescent and this decor is known as Aurora.

These Loetz Paenia floriform shapes are exquisite to see.
