Antique French Victorian Mourning Hair Art Ebony Frame Reliquary dated 1862. Beautiful antique french black framed, hair art sentimental reliquary. Made during the 1870's Napoleon III period.
The subject depicted is very original, depiciting a monument to the dead near two trees. The glass is slightly convex, it is surrounded by a bronze hoop.
There is a document found with the frame, which indicates the origin of this frame. It was manufactured by the "Maison Florentin et Bourlon" founded in Paris in 1839, jewelery and articles in hair - medalist at the World Fair of 1867.
