ANTIQUE FRENCH VICTORIAN MOURNING HAIR ART CONVEX GLASS FRAME RELIQUARY. An antique French Napoleon III era sentimental hair artwork mourning memento. It is unusual and crafted from hair as a lasting memento of a lost loved one. Set under a domed convex glass and housed within an ebonized wooden frame with brass surround. In overall good antique condition with some wear to the wooden frame. This very beautiful piece was created with braided hair and flowers made with hair.
This one has a peculiarity. We find on the back of the frame the death notice of the person for whom the frame was made, with their contact details.
