Antique Early 1900s Art Deco, Nouveau, Victorian, Grand Hall Ceiling Chandelier
Up for your consideration is this extremely rare early 1900s huge Grand Ball/Hall hanging chandelier. The light housing and ceiling cap is made of reinforced plaster of paris with the original aged gold guilding finish. The large curved white slag glass panels in the bottom are the original glass and unbroken. The chandelier holds 8 lights total, 4 in the inside of the light and 4 hanging on the sides facing downwards. The light is all original but the main lead chain wire has been updated at some point. The light overall is gorgeous! There are some slight imperfections and aging as you would expect for a light well over a century old. There is no major damage or repairs, there are some chips here and there scattered and some old chips that were touched up very nicely at some point. The sockets and inner wiring are original to the chandelier and work great. Each outer light has the original turn switch in the sockets which work great as well. The chains are a very large rectangular links and made of bronze I believe.
The ceiling cap is also original and has had a few knicks touched up nicely and overall very nice as well. We estimate the chandelier circa very early 1900s - mid teens. Chandeliers like this were made to stand the test of time and to "WOW" anyone who see's them. They are Grand lighted pieces of art.
Mainly used in Large Halls , Ballrooms, or large extravagant homes of the wealthy. The light is not perfect by any means, but nothing is at this age, it is however a beautiful surviving functional piece of art that still is breathtaking to stand under while lighting a room. This chandelier is very large. MEASURMENTS- 49" INCHES TOTAL FROM CEILING TO BOTTOM OF LIGHT, 24" INCHES DIAMETER. NOTE- We will be sending the mounting hardware that was with the chandelier but further mounting hardware will need to be accessed and provided by the new owners and/or thier contractor. The chandelier is original finish, any upgrades or restorations would be to the new owners discretion. There are small knicks/aging as well as slight crazing in the gilding in areas and some spots where chips/knicks had been touched up at one time, overall the light has been maintained very well over the last 100 plus years.
