GORGEOUS MOSER CUT AND GILT 3 PARROTS VASE. This lovely piece was made by Moser Art Glass, in Bohemia in the late 1880's. The vase is hand blown, hand cut and hand gilt (gold encrusted). It has 3 applied, scrolled legs and three vertical applied flat shell rigoree bands. The glass is a true emerald green color. The fineness of these cuts was done by a master's hand for sure, it is a MUST SEE in person to really appreciate fully. Some of the cuts are minute and each is deliberate and finely executed. Each parrot is different, all sitting on branches among tropical leaves and flowers. The vase is small, measuring only 4 1/2" high, 1 5/8" wide across the mouth, 3 1/2" wide side to side including rigoree and 3" from foot to foot. Each vertical band is just under 2" long and 1/4" wide. They are placed just under 1 1/4 from the neck.
The flat shell shapes have tiny x's in them which are also painted gold. One band of the shells is missing the top one and the one just above the last is misshapen but doesn't appear to be broken and isn't sharp.

These two small defects are hard to notice and really don't detract much, this is reflected in the price. An undamaged or perfect piece would be listed for hundreds of dollars.

As you can see there is also rubbing to the gold, but enough remains to see the beauty and skill it took to make this piece. It is unsigned, but may be attributable to a certain person at Moser. This piece has come out of my personal collection and is truly an example of how fine the work was at the Moser Art Glass factory. I have been a collector since I was 12 years old and a Dealer for over 40 years now. I do recycle packing materials, but only use sturdy boxes, bubbles and peanuts, Never Paper.
