Antique Bohemian Harrach Historismus enamel glass vase c 1880

  

Lovely and exquisite little vase from the times of the Historismus style period, c 1880. (Historismus is an artistic style that takes inspiration and recreates historic styles like those from the Medieval period or the Renaissance). Produced most probably by the very famous Bohemian Harrach Glassworks in Neuwelt Germany.

Real gem of an emerald green glass vase, very tactile with its flat shape. Wonderfully hand painted with polychrome enamels and gold, representing a knight in shining armour, on a background of wreaths of beautiful flowers. Excellent condition, gilded rim at the top has a bit faded. 7 cm / 3 cm.
