Presenting a beautifully decorated antique Burmese glass vase. The quality of this exceptional example is evident at first site and there is no doubting it was produced by one of the leading 19th century Burmese glass makers, most likely Mount Washington or Thomas Webb.
The stylishly proportioned Oriental inspired piece has been masterfully hand painted with an exceptionally well executed design typical of the Aesthetic Movement. Bamboo borders divide the bulbous shaped body into two halves with a wading stork adorning one half and a swallow flying above an idyllic landscape adorning the opposing side.
An acanthus leaf design adorns the shoulder while a delightful bird and blossom branch design decorates the neck creating a perfectly balanced and pleasingly harmonious design. EXQUISITE QUALITY 19TH CENTURY BURMESE GLASS VASE. The hand painted design is rendered in gold and deep burgundy tones accented with relief beads of glistening gold adding a luxurious jewel-like sparkle throughout. A gilt gold trim to the top rim perfectly unifies the exquisite design. This piece has an appealing satin finish and the glass glows with a magical neon intensity under UV light indicating the presence of uranium. This masterfully hand crafted piece is beautifully finished with a quality circular concave polished pontil mark to the base. SIZE: This impressive piece stands approx 210mms tall and measures 95mms in diameter. WEIGHT: This piece weighs 375 grams unpackaged. CONDITION: This stunning example is presented in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. The hand painted design remains wonderfully rich and crisp with no major wear.
Light wear to the gold trim to the rim mentioned for complete accuracy. This exceptional piece has been very well cared for and presents magnificently.

MARKS: This piece is signed to the base with an unidentified hand brushed mark as indicated in the images.
