1885 Documented Antique Victorian Bohemian Harrach Art Glass Vase W. POHL Design
Antique Bohemian Harrach Peachblow Hand Painted Art Glass Vase. This beautiful vase is documented as a Wilhelm Polh design for Harrach from 1885. The shape of the vase is what collectors consider a Peachblow, Jack in the Pulpit art glass form. Harrach records reveal the Peachblow decor colour name as Basdouble Rosa Gelb and the form was produced in a few variants by Pohl. Please look at the last two photos to review the documented reference from the latest book from Harrach covering 300 years of production which was edited by Jan Mergl.
Hand-painted enameling with platinum and gold gilt depict a butterfly in flight with floral sprays. The applied "tree trunk" style peg feet are of amber coloured glass covered in gold. Polished pontil on the vase and is signed with the number 6 in red. A rarity to find, and nicely documented. Also, the opal coloured glass does glow neon green under a black UV light. 5.75 inches to be exact. The rim is 3" x 3" diameter. The applied base is 2-1/2 diameter.
Please be sure to read the condition report. The wooden base is not included. The item "1885 Documented Antique Victorian Bohemian Harrach Art Glass Vase W.
