Victorian Green Glass Tankard Germany Wedding Set RARE. This is an amazing set.
You get the huge tankard and 6 matching tumblers / beer glasses. It is engraved and painted in the Mary Gregory Style. It is a greenish amber honey color.
Not quite green and not really amber. It is 17 1/2" tall and 6" wide. Pewter hinged or silver plate lid. German glass pouring tankard stein.
Either a holiday type drink set or beer drinking set. YOU GET A 7 PIECE SET.
6 TUMBLERS and 1 HUGE TANKARD. It is engraved with what we think says..... Gen z Hochzeit von Seinen Muuremgescellen. We think that the first part means With regard to the marriage of his.... And we can't make out the end portion.
If anyone knows the maker or what the engraving says we would love to know. Also engraved with 14-5-08 and we know that means May 14th, 1908. No chips or cracks on the tankard but the six tumblers that are 6 1/4 by 2 3/8" at the base and 2 3/4" at the top are not all perfect. 3 of the tumblers have minor rim chips/fleabites. The painted enameled flower or fruit looks like a pomegranite to me. If anyone knows, please let us know.
