VICTORIAN CRANBERRY ART GLASS CANDY DISH, SILVER PLATE STAND, c. 1880's
Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for an unusual cranberry Art Glass candy dish with clear rigaree decorated top in fitted silver plated metal stand, c. This lovely dish has a beautiful cranberry glass body with clear scalloped glass rigaree with pointed tips and sits in a fitted silver plated metal stand with twisted handle and three tall ball feet.
These candy dishes were popular during the late Victorian Period (1880's). Much of this type glass was produced by Stevens & Williams in England although it is never signed.
Measures 6" high (to top of stand), 2 1/2" high (to top of cranberry glass of candy dish) and is 5 5/8 wide. The dish is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a couple of tiny no-harm glass "bumps" in the glass from the firing process.
The stand has naturally aged patina and does not have a bright silver plate finish. We at Antiques & Moore have been in the Antiques business for over 30 years and try to describe our items as accurately as possible.
