Washington or Webb Art Glass Enameled Tumble Up or Guest Set! We will be listing many treasures that are extremely rare over the upcoming weeks from our own collection. This is a wonderful and very elegant Victorian era guest set. These were produced so overnight guests could take a drink to their bedroom rather than have to get up and go to the water pump for a late night drink.
The set has an inverted thumbprint pattern. The pitcher and matching glasses have enameled daisies hand painted around their sides. In our 20+ years of shopping we have never seen another set that resembles this one. It could have ben produced by Hobbs since the tray resembles the shape of ones they produced. The inverted thumbprint also was a pattern they frequently used.
The pitcher has an applied double amber handle. The tray has a gold band around its top and white dots all around the inside just under the rim. The base even has a polished pontil mark giving it provenance to some upper grade glass company from that time period. Add some brilliant color and stunning design to your collection with this magnificent piece. Tray is 9 1/2 wide.
The pitcher size is 5" wide and 7" tall. There are no chips or cracks. Make room on the Top Shelf for this one! Please write us for more information.
