Seen in the first 10 photos is a Stevens & Williams Victorian 1885 Circa Carmel W/ Robin Egg Blue Interior Basket. Applied Glass Mat-Su-No-Ke marked w/ Rd 15353.
This is the registered Patent number for Mat-Su-No-Ke applied crystal on Stevens & Williams glass. Last 2 photos are of the Rd # which I have seen many times- very difficult to see. Color is described in the Peachblow Book written by J Billings page 27. Stevens & Williams Peachblow ID Card- Proper name is Peachbloom made by S&W of Brierly Hill, England Color: shaded pink to peach or pink to white, or brown to amber depending on whom you consult. Color of this basket is brown to amber (color fading to light amber).
This basket has a double Thorn Handle. Or two twisted Thorn Handles. Applied Crystal glass is Mat So Nu-Ke with small flowers and stems. It is marked with the Stevens & Williams Patent # for Mat So Nuke on the bottom # Rd 15353. Mat- Su-No-Ke was produced under the influence of Japanese decor and is RARE!
These pieces are getting difficult to find and even harder now. Almost impossible to find in MINT condition. Robin egg blue interior with Carmel exterior in a glossy finish. Round finished Pontil has been ground to the point of the interior color of glass is seen.
Produced under the management of Joseph Silvers Williams with artistic development of John Northwood I for Stevens & Williams. Checked carefully for chips, flea bites, cracks and fractures by holding it up to the light and softly checking rims with fingers- no damage MINT Condition! Measures- Total height top of handles to bottom- 4" length-7". Additional photos available upon request. Design that is Mat Su No Ke- a floral decoration made in 1884. Edge of rim is decorated with a shallow height rounded profile multi crimp. The top is pinched together forming two inner sections. Body is formed with clear glass over the tan Peachbloom Color over a creamy glass. Polished out Pontil on bottom with the Reg Design Etched on the bottom #15353.
