Antique Wave Crest Biscuit Cracker Jar Victorian Molded Art Glass CF Monroe
This listing offers a Victorian, C1890's covered cracker jar, also known as a biscuit jar. We believe the molded, opaque glass is Wave Crest although the jar is not marked. The molded glass was created with cameo openings where hand painted flowers are presented. The quadruple silver plated handle and lid are by Britannia Metal Co and marked accordingly, including the number 5001 below the mark. The lid fits perfectly - no dents, bends, or damage. This pretty piece is being offered with no apologies - no chips, cracks, or issues. The silver plated top might benefit from a bit more polishing but we will leave that decision to the new owner. It measures approximately 7 inches to the top of the lid and 10 inches tall when the handle is upright. The last picture shows this jar with two Mt Washington jars from our collection so be sure to check our other listings. Your satisfaction is our priority. Please contact me if an item is damaged or wasn't adequately described and we will do everything in our power to make it right. On that note, please also read our description and check out the pictures - we try very hard to provide adequate details and post lots of pictures. It is official, sister and I are retired now and living in the country. Not surprising, many of the "keepers" we so carefully moved from Boise will not fit in the new house AND sis is still opening boxes.
