Antique Victorian FIGURAL FRUIT Art Glass Cranberry Hobnail Enamel Pickle Castor
Vintage Antique Victorian FIGURAL FRUIT Art Glass Cranberry Enameled Pickle Castor. We are proud to present a beautiful ornate Victorian pickle caster. Wonderful figural fruit on the stand with leaves following to the top. Decorative flowers and aesthetic design on the lower base. Glass jar is cranberry on top which moves to a clear on the bottom. Reverse hobnail bumps are on it. 3 sections of enameled decoration: fruit, yellow flowers, and blue flowers. Guessing that the fruit may be a plum since it is a blue or purplish color on the enamel glass. Could be argued that it was an apple, cherry, cranberry, etc. Could not find a name on the stand itself. The tongs are marked Derby silver company. Not sure if the items are original together especially the tongs.
This came out of the personal estate of a long time antique store owner as a treasured item. Height is about 13 1/4 inch at tallest point. Greatest width is about 6 inch hard to measure because of angles.
The name "Blanche" is scratched in the underside of the lid. Few very small chips on the rum of the glass. Since these items were previously used and loved, there will be small scratches and signs of wear. We feel these characteristics are part of the history of these wonderful things and should not detract from the use of them today.
