ANTIQUE VENETIAN SALVIATI OPALESCENT GLASS VASE ITALIAN MURANO VICTORIAN ERA. EXCEPTIONAL EXAMPLE OF ANTIQUE VENETIAN OPALESCENT GLASS. Presenting an exquisite antique Venetian opalescent art glass vase expertly hand crafted by a master Italian glass artist. The quality of this masterfully crafted piece is evident at first sight. It is most likely this stunning example was produced by Salviati circa mid 1800s.
This elegantly shaped piece has been masterfully hand crafted in a most exquisite opalescent glass. The opalescent glass has a lovely of cool opal blue colour which is spectacularly illuminated with glowing fiery orange tones as the light illuminates the form, creating a most spectacular contrast. Magnificent vertical optical ribbing wonderfully accentuates the stunning sparkle of the glass, radiating light throughout the perfectly proportioned form while adding a fabulous tactile element to the design. The radiant fiery tones and milky opalescence are beautifully enhanced by the ribbing. A trail of clear glass filled with glistening gold aventurine inclusions adds a lavish detail to the neck of the vessel.
The glass stylishly swells and tapers to create a wonderfully elegant and perfectly balanced form. This piece stands proudly upon a wide and stable opalescent glass foot trimmed in clear glass rigaree. The footed base beautifully elevates the form allowing the light to illuminate the glass from every angle. This masterfully crafted piece looks truly exquisite with light illuminating the opalescent glass and optical ribbing. This stunning example is presented in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. We have closely examined this piece and it cannot be faulted.
