ANTIQUE FRENCH VICTORIAN MOURNING HAIR ART CONVEX GLASS FRAME RELIQUARY 1874. An antique French Napoleon III era sentimental hair artwork mourning memento. It is unusual and crafted from hair as a lasting memento of a lost loved one. Set under a domed convex glass and housed within an ebonized wooden frame with brass surround.In overall good antique condition with some wear to the wooden frame. This very beautiful piece was created with brown hair, strands of hair to create a crown with a flower in the center and the initials CG. This has never been opened and still has an inscription on the back written in ink saying: Monsieur Jules Geoffroy's hair surrounds the thoughts of her daugther.
